A traditional open fireplace allows over 90% of the heat to escape through the chimney. The solution? An insert— essentially a stove-type design—can be installed into the firebox of an existing masonry or factory-built fireplace. An insert provides enhanced performance and safety. Inserts minimize heat loss by sealing off the house from the chimney, controlling drafts and delivering heated air directly to the room. Choose from inserts that burn gas, wood or pellets as fuel, along with various features such as fans and thermostatic controls.
