Bryant® Heating and Cooling Systems
Several factors should be considered when selecting the best heating and cooling system for your family or business, including the physical specifications of your home or office. Haley Comfort Systems offers four main types of Bryant heating and cooling systems: HYBRID HEAT® dual fuel systems, split systems, duct-free split systems and packaged systems.
HYBRID HEAT® dual fuel system
A Bryant HYBRID HEAT dual fuel system is a more energy-efficient variation of the traditional heating and cooling split system because it allows greater control over which fuel is used for heating. The inclusion of a heat pump allows the option of electricity-fueled heating and cooling, in addition to gas furnace heat.
Split Systems
The most typical and traditional heating and cooling systems are split systems. With a Bryant split system, you have products that reside both inside and outside your home.
Packaged Systems
If your home does not have the space for the multiple separate products typically found in a split system, Bryant offers several small packaged solutions which may be located on the exterior of your home either on the rooftop or in the yard.
More Information on Home Heating and Cooling Basics
Heating and cooling are two of the most important components in your home. Heating and cooling systems can be energy savers or money wasters and are major considerations for home buyers as well as pivotal components of comfortable indoor living. For business owners the heating and cooling system you employ can contribute to energy savings, cost savings and a productive work environment.
The term HVAC is frequently used to describe home heating and cooling systems. This acronym stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, the three primary functions of a home heating and cooling system. An HVAC system controls air temperature and humidity, and maintains the air quality in your home or office.
Central Systems
A central heating and cooling system is designed to produce warm or cool air in one area and then distribute the warm or cool air throughout the home or workplace. Traditional split systems and packaged systems are two of the types of central systems available.
Products typically used in central heating and cooling systems include:
- Heat Pumps
- Air Conditioners
- Gas and Oil Furnaces
- Fan Coils
- Evaporator Coils
- Controls and Thermostats
Heating
Your heating system keeps your home warm and comfortable when outside temperatures drop. In Minnesota and Northern Iowa keeping your heating system in good working order is a high priority.
Most central heating and cooling systems send air through ductwork for distribution and are classified as forced air systems. The ductwork running through your home or workplace can contain filters or other air purification products to improve air quality.
Radiant heating systems create heat and deliver it throughout a home or building via radiators or in floor heating systems. Boilers are a traditional radiant heat source.
Typical heating products include:
- Heat Pumps
- Gas and Oil Furnaces
- Fan Coils
- Boilers
Cooling
You may have heard the term “whole-home” air conditioning systems; these are central systems that use ductwork to deliver cooled air throughout the home or building. Cooling, ventilation, humidity control are provided by your air-conditioning system. If using a heat pump these systems can even provide heating. Air conditioning units utilize evaporator coils and use refrigerants like Puron®. Air is then blown over the evaporator coils to be cooled and is then directed through ducts to cool the home or workplace.
Typical air conditioning products include:
- Heat Pumps
- Central Air Conditioners
- Evaporator Coils
Thermostats
A thermostat is any unit that controls the operation of a heating and cooling system. Used to turn on your heating or cooling system, the thermostat can also be adjusted to a set temperature. Programmable thermostats go beyond basic temperature control and can be used to preset time and temperature. This can contribute to energy savings.
